Last month, Broadway fans everywhere decided which of their favorites of the 2009-2010 season deserved Broadway.com Audience Awards and now it's time to give out some trophies! Our parade of trophy-toters continues with Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson's creative team of composer/lyricist Michael Friedman (also a winner in 2008 for his musical contributions to off-Broadway favorite Saved) and book-writer/director Alex Timbers, who dropped by Broadway.com to accept their show's award for Favorite New Off-Broadway musical. On paper, the Public Theater production, which chronicles the life and accomplishments of former president Andrew Jackson, first sounded like it could be another stale history lesson set to tunes. Fortunately, a stellar cast, hilarious script, catchy emo tunes, cartoonish historical vignettes, ballet dancing indians and a Twinkie made the new tuner your favorite of the season...and its creators are honored. Watch the video to see how Friedman and Timbers responded to your vote!
